Discussion

This was the second spit (beneath the first spit 011AD00045 and equal to the material in spit 011AD00053) of a loamy sand layer (Munsell 10YR 3/3), excavated across the waterlogged area to the west of the spring pool. It partially sealed a red daub material (011AD00056) which was a deposit in enclosure ditch 011CD007109. At this level, no waterlogged material was recovered. There were no finds.
